Visiting at Redwood Hospital

Would you like to visit a patient in the hospital?

Redwood Hospital does not have posted visiting hours, but we ask that visitors respect the wishes of the patient. Here are some important reminders.

  • Please help protect patients from seasonal viruses. If you have the signs and symptoms of a cold or the flu, please refrain from visiting the hospital until you are symptom-free.
  • If you are well enough to visit, please wash your hands or use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer before entering the patient’s room to help stop the spread of germs and infection.
  • Children may visit if they are accompanied by an adult who is responsible for their supervision
  • No one with an active infection may visit patients
  • Staff have the right to restrict visitors or request they leave
  • Nursing staff will advise visitors regarding any limitations
  • We suggest limiting visits to patients after 8:30 p.m. so that they can rest, but loved ones are always welcome. If a patient would like a guest to stay in their room overnight, a pull-out sleeper chair is available.

Dining and Lodging

The dining room is located on the main level and is open to guests every day from 7:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. for light breakfast items, and 11:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. for hot food. Different food choices are offered every day, including the chef’s hot special, sandwiches made to order, or soup and salad bar.

Vending machines, available 24 hours a day are located on the main floor in the stairway, on the patient floor near the West nurses station or on the West end of the building past the lobby near the elevator.

Visit our local Redwood Area Chamber and Tourism website for a list of restaurants and lodging options available in Redwood Falls.

Gift Shop

The Gift Shop is located on the main level of the hospital, near the Registration Desk. All profits from the Gift Shop are used to fund hospital programs and services that benefit patients through the Redwood Hospital Auxiliary. It is open daily as staffing allows. It has a variety of gift items, greeting cards, candy, and toiletries. Fresh Flowers from Blossom Town are available in a cooler located outside the gift shop door.

Latex Safe Hospital

In the interest of the health of our patients and staff, Redwood Hospital has a latex-safe policy. Because of this, latex balloons are not permitted in the hospital. Mylar balloons are an acceptable substitute.
