Rice Memorial Hospital Receives CNOR Strong Designation

Published in Media Releases

Rice Memorial Hospital recently earned the CNOR (Certified Perioperative Nurse) Strong designation by the Competency & Credentialing Institute. This recognition is awarded to facilities that have more than 50% of eligible certified perioperative nurses with the CNOR credential.

"We are proud of our perioperative nurses who have pursued this certification to guarantee they are doing their very best to put patients first in all that they do. Their commitment to excellence helps us deliver nationally benchmarked, high-quality healthcare close to home. We are incredibly proud of this OR team," says Director of Surgical Services, Erika Gjerde.

Certified nurses who have mastered the standards of perioperative practice advance a culture of professionalism and promoting improved patient outcomes. The CNOR Strong program recognizes facilities' commitment to making a difference for patients both inside and outside the operating room.

"Patient safety and positive surgical outcomes are of the utmost importance. Supporting nurses as they exceed expectations to achieve their perioperative nursing certification shows Carris Health is continually committed to providing excellent care for our patients," says Gjerde.
