Carris Health Clinic-Marshall (ACMC-Marshall) is pleased to announce the addition of Pediatric Nurse Practitioner, Amanda Kohls, to its medical team. Amanda will be joining Dr. Atul Mishra and Dr. Tim Michals in the Marshall clinic in October of 2018.
Amanda earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Winona State University in Winona, MN. She went on to earn her Masters of Science from Vanderbilt University in Nashville, TN. Amanda previously completed a clinical rotation under Pediatrician, Dr. KerriAnn Mahon, in the ACMC-Willmar clinic.
Amanda is a Board Certified Pediatric Nurse Practitioner with interests in pediatric preventative care, adolescent medicine, and mental health. She is also a licensed instructor of the Cognitive Behavioral Therapy Program. This program is designed for children and adolescents struggling with anxiety, depression, bullying, aggression, low self-esteem, and stressors.
Prior to becoming a Nurse Practitioner, Amanda worked as a registered nurse for four years at Sanford Health and Prairie St. John’s in Fargo, ND. During that time, she worked in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, pediatric trauma center, and inpatient psychiatric units.
Originally from Danube, MN, Amanda is excited to take a full-time position at the Marshall clinic and begin seeing patients in October.
