Carris Health – Rice Memorial Hospital is pleased to announce the addition of Psychiatrist, Nicholas Ray, DO, who will join our healthcare team in August 2018.
Dr. Ray received his bachelor’s degree in Biology from the University of Texas at Arlington and earned his doctorate in Osteopathic Medicine from Texas College of Osteopathic Medicine in Fort Worth, TX. He completed his psychiatry residency at the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio, TX.
Prior to becoming a doctor, Dr. Ray served in the United States Navy as an aircrew rescue swimmer for medevac operations and spent five years as a paramedic. He received an air medal for his support during Operation Iraqi Freedom. As a former combat veteran, Dr. Ray holds a special interest in helping patients suffering from Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder and addiction issues.
In his role as a psychiatrist, Dr. Ray sees individuals for the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of mental illnesses. He will collaborate with primary care providers to develop care plans for patients.
Dr. Ray and his wife have relocated to Willmar along with their three children.
